"Especially during this administration, we’ve seen how so many things have been rolled back: DEI and so many different things. And we’ve seen companies step away from the queer community. It’s beautiful to see an organization like the Orioles say, 'No, we’re going to continue standing with them,' even when it was so easy to turn your back."

In 2025, an executive order titled "Keeping Men Out of Women’s Sports" was signed, which aims to direct federal agencies to enforce Title IX by defining "sex" as biological sex. The stated goal of this order is to prevent men and boys from competing in female sports categories. The White House commented on this issue, stating:
"In recent years, many educational institutions and athletic associations have allowed men to compete in women’s sports. This is demeaning, unfair, and dangerous to women and girls, and denies women and girls the equal opportunity to participate and excel in competitive sports."

Interestingly, Major League Baseball itself has reportedly modified some of its DEI initiatives. These adjustments are said to be in response to federal government scrutiny, leading the league to reduce visible DEI branding and review and alter certain program language and structural elements.
