Oba Femi Crowned King of the Ring at WWE Night of Champions, Secures SummerSlam Title Opportunity

The King of the Ring final kicked off Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia on Saturday, pitting Oba Femi against Jey Uso. The stakes were high, with the victor guaranteed a championship opportunity at SummerSlam. Femi entered the contest with a clear focus, having previously indicated interest in challenging top contenders like Brock Lesnar or Roman Reigns. Uso, on the other hand, aimed to secure a win that would allow him to face the undisputed WWE champion and potentially bring another world title back to The Bloodline faction.

Jey Uso mounted a significant offensive effort throughout the match, particularly in its closing moments, in his quest to incapacitate Femi. He unleashed a series of thrust kicks, followed by a powerful running shoulder block to Femi’s midsection, a devastating spear, and finally, his signature Uso Splash. Despite this formidable display, "The Ruler" proved resilient, enduring the onslaught. Uso's attempts to secure the pinfall ultimately fell short.

Regaining momentum, Femi asserted his dominance, utilizing his immense strength to toss Uso to the mat. He then executed his powerful finisher, the Fall from Grace, before successfully pinning Uso to clinch the match and be crowned the new King of the Ring.

Femi's Post-Match Declaration

Following his decisive victory, Femi delivered a powerful post-match address.

"It feels so good to go from ‘The Ruler’ to being the king," Femi proclaimed. "Jey Uso did not understand what he was up against tonight. He thought he was just fighting one man. You might be able to beat one man but you can’t beat fate and you can’t beat destiny and most importantly, you can’t beat me." He continued, emphasizing his new status, "I am the ruler, the destroyer, the bringer of war, the mountain that you cannot climb, the mountain that you cannot conquer, the one-of-one, the beast slayer, the one, the chosen one, the king of the ring, Oba Femi!"

SummerSlam Title Opportunity Awaits

With the King of the Ring crown secured, Oba Femi now faces the crucial decision of which championship he will pursue at SummerSlam. While challenging Roman Reigns might appear to be a logical choice given both competitors are Raw superstars, the landscape of the Undisputed WWE Championship shifted later in the evening. Sami Zayn emerged victorious in a triple-threat match against Cody Rhodes and Gunther, claiming the Undisputed WWE Championship. This development adds another compelling option for Femi's title shot, which is slated for SummerSlam on August 1 and 2.
