Authorities confirmed that emergency services responded to the scene, where at least one critically injured patient required extrication and immediate transport to a hospital.

Incident Details and Casualties

The collision unfolded on Reisterstown Road in Pikesville, involving a Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) bus. Baltimore County officials reported that numerous other civilian vehicles were also impacted in the incident, with one car overturning. Rescue personnel successfully freed one individual trapped inside the bus and another occupant from a separate vehicle.

Extensive Emergency Response

Due to the severity of the crash, a second mass casualty incident alarm was activated shortly after the initial reports, indicating a high volume of casualties requiring medical attention. The Baltimore County Fire Department confirmed that a building engineer was en route to assess the structural integrity of the affected property.

Maryland Governor Wes Moore addressed the situation, stating he was closely monitoring developments. In a public message, he expressed his concern:

The Maryland State Highway Administration announced that roads in the vicinity of the crash site were closed to facilitate emergency operations. Drivers were advised to seek alternative routes to avoid the area.
