Idaho Mother Who Blamed Vaccines for Twin Deaths Now Charged with First-Degree Murder
Andrea Shaw, 23, faces two counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of her 18-month-old twins, a year after she publicly claimed their deaths were vaccine-related.
U.S.·

An Idaho mother who previously attributed the deaths of her twin babies to vaccinations has now been indicted on murder charges related to the 18-month-olds' passing last year.
Andrea Shaw, 23, was formally charged with two counts of first-degree murder, as announced by the Payette Police Department last week. Her arrest took place in Boise on Tuesday.
Authorities had previously stated that the boy and girl were discovered deceased in a shared bed on May 1, 2025.
Allegations of Suffocation and Vaccine Claims
While law enforcement officials have not publicly disclosed the specific cause of death for the children, an indictment filed in Payette County accuses Shaw of causing the deaths of her twin toddlers, Dallas and Tyson, through suffocation, according to local reports.
Just days after their children's deaths, Shaw and her husband participated in a podcast sponsored by Children's Health Defense, an organization critical of vaccines that was previously led by Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. During their appearance, Shaw alleged that the twins fell ill and died shortly after receiving three vaccinations.
Joe Filicetti, Shaw's attorney, reiterated his belief that the children's deaths were connected to vaccinations, though he did not provide evidence to substantiate this assertion.
"They were looking at it as a vaccine death, and that's still what I believe it to be," he told a local news outlet.
Legal Proceedings and Personal Circumstances
Filicetti also mentioned that Shaw recently delivered another baby prematurely via cesarean section, and her husband is currently caring for their newborn.
Shaw was initially detained at the Ada County Jail before being transferred to Payette County. She is currently being held on a $2 million bond.
Her arraignment was conducted virtually at the Payette County District Court on Thursday. During the hearing, the court formally presented the charges and informed her of the potential penalties she faces, which include the possibility of the death penalty.
