Diane Keaton's Former Brentwood Estate Listed for $22.9 Million Following Her Passing

The former Los Angeles residence of Academy Award-winning actress Diane Keaton has recently become available for purchase. Located in Brentwood, the property is listed at $22.9 million, handled by real estate agent Josh Flagg of Compass.

Flagg, who has a history of collaborating with Keaton on property sales, lauded her discerning aesthetic. "Diane possessed one of the great design eyes of our generation," Flagg stated. He added, "I had the privilege of selling several of her homes over the years, including the former Peter Bogdanovich residence in Bel Air."

A Glimpse Inside the Property

Constructed in 2015, the expansive residence spans 9,206 square feet, encompassing five bedrooms and eight bathrooms. The extensive 28,000-square-foot estate also includes a separate guest house.

Inside, the design elements feature wood-paneled ceilings adorned with exposed wooden beams, complementing an open-concept layout that effortlessly connects the various living areas. Notable interior features include a spacious, all-white kitchen and a distinctive staircase. Outdoors, the property boasts a sizable swimming pool with an integrated jacuzzi and a two-car garage.

Flagg further commented on Keaton's unique vision, remarking, "What always amazed me was her ability to see potential where others saw limitations. She had an almost oracle-like eye for architecture, proportion, and design. It is a talent that is exceedingly rare and one that has been profoundly lost."

A Legacy in Film and Design

Keaton passed away in October 2025 at the age of 79, following a battle with bacterial pneumonia that she reportedly suffered from for several days. Her illustrious career began with her breakthrough role as Kay Adams in "The Godfather," a part she reprised in its two subsequent installments. This early success led to numerous memorable performances in films such as "Sleeper," "Love and Death," and "Manhattan."

Her status as a leading actress was solidified when she received the Academy Award for Best Actress for her portrayal of the titular character in "Annie Hall." Later in her career, she garnered additional Oscar nominations for her work in "Marvin's Room" and "Something's Gotta Give." Her extensive filmography also includes beloved roles in "The Family Stone," "First Wives Club," and "Father of the Bride," among many others.

Tributes from Co-Stars

Following her passing, numerous former colleagues and co-stars shared their remembrances. Al Pacino, who starred alongside Keaton in "The Godfather" trilogy, expressed his profound sorrow, stating he was "deeply saddened" by her death.

"When I first heard the news, I was shaken," Pacino recounted. "Diane was my partner, my friend, someone who brought me happiness and on more than one occasion influenced the direction of my life. Though over thirty years has past since we were together, the memories remain vivid, and with her passing, they have returned with a force that is both painful and moving."

He further reflected on her impact, noting, "She lived without limits, and everything she touched carried her unmistakable energy. She opened doors for others, inspired generations and embodied a once-in-a-lifetime gift that radiated through her work and her life." Pacino concluded his tribute with a poignant thought: "I will always remember her. She could fly — and in my heart, she always will."

In March, Rachel McAdams, Keaton's co-star from "The Family Stone," honored her at the Academy Awards. McAdams described Keaton as "a legend with no end" who possessed an extraordinary career and mentored many emerging actors. She also highlighted Keaton's qualities as a mother.

"I remember she used to sing this old Girl Scout song on set, which is just so her: ‘Make new friends, but keep the old. One is silver, and the other is gold. A circle is round, it has no end. That’s how long I’ll be your friend,’" McAdams recalled, concluding, "And so to our friend Diane Keaton, celebrating a life in silver and gold, a legend with no end."
