Unsubtle Espionage and Discovery
Reports indicate that Prinstein was positioned in the designated scout section at the Denver ballpark when he began recording Rockies coaches using his smartphone in plain view. Unlike incidents involving elaborate covert equipment, Prinstein's method was described as overtly conspicuous, simply holding up a cell phone in a populated stadium. This lack of subtlety led to him being spotted by someone in attendance, who subsequently alerted Major League Baseball. The league office then promptly informed the Angels organization of the violation.
