Ana de Armas Shares Glimpses of Summer Retreat Amidst Relaxed Poolside Moments

Actress Ana de Armas has been embracing the initial days of summer, sharing a series of personal moments with her followers.

The 38-year-old star posted multiple images on Instagram, many of which captured her in a bikini enjoying a poolside gathering with companions. One particular photo shows de Armas affectionately holding her dog while sitting with her legs submerged in the water. She sported a patterned string bikini accessorized with several bracelets.

This same swimwear appeared in several other snapshots, featuring her embracing friends, engaging in a board game at a table, sharing laughter by the pool, and gently dipping her dog into the water from the pool's edge.

Fans quickly reacted to the posts, with one commenter writing, "These are the good times." Another fan noted, "Salsita and Elvis getting a tan 😍❤️," referring to her two canine companions.

Additional images in the collection presented the actress showcasing her physique in red micro shorts and a matching red bralette, complemented by a blue bandana tied around her head.

A Rising Star's Journey to Hollywood

De Armas began her acting career in Cuban and Spanish cinema before making her transition to Hollywood in 2014. After securing minor roles in several major films, she achieved a significant breakthrough with her performance in the 2017 movie Blade Runner 2049. Her work in the 2019 film Knives Out further elevated her profile, earning widespread recognition and a Golden Globe nomination.

Portraying an Icon: The 'Blonde' Challenge

Her subsequent leading role as Marilyn Monroe in Blonde garnered her an Academy Award nomination. The Cuban-born actress openly discussed the demanding process of perfecting Monroe's distinct accent for the film in a 2021 interview with The Sunday Times.

"I tried!" she recounted. "It only took me nine months of dialect coaching, and practicing, and some ADR sessions. It was a big torture, so exhausting. My brain was fried."

Despite the critical acclaim from the Academy for her portrayal, the Ballerina star initially faced some public criticism upon the announcement of her casting as the legendary movie icon. Many voiced objections to a Cuban actress being chosen to embody Monroe, with some specifically pointing to her "heavy accent" as a potential impediment to a convincing performance.

One user on X commented at the time, "Am I the only one not surprised that Ana De Armas sounds bad in the Blonde trailer? Her accent is very heavy, it was going to take a lot for her to convincingly sound like Marilyn."

Amidst this early scrutiny, actor Brad Pitt, whose production company Plan B was behind the film, publicly defended de Armas. Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Pitt stated that "she is phenomenal in" the movie.

"That’s a tough dress to fill," Pitt remarked. "It was 10 years in the making. It wasn’t until we found Ana that we could get it across the finish line."
